PLUS, make sure to check out all our other sneak peaks and the original iMindMap 9 review below.
Didn’t you just love the new bubble mode, sorry, I mean the funky Fast Capture View, introduced in iMindMap 9? Well, whether you were blown away or simply slightly swayed, it’s just got a major face-lift for version 10.
If you were a bit bored with only seeing orange bubbles whilst ‘sprain-storming’ (that’s “speed brain storming – which I’m sure would catch on if it didn’t sound like you’d just broken your ankle in a gale…) you’re in luck.
Now you can colour your idea bubbles to your heart’s content, which allows you to group your thoughts more visually. This is great for rainbow worshippers like myself but they don’t say if your new colourful bubble palette is limited to a few choices or not.
Also new is the ability to add images to your bubbles. They have to be careful with what they add; the more you can do with your bubbles, the closer they creep to looking like a standard mind map.
That won’t happen as long as they don’t let you put words on the threads connecting bubbles of course. The bubbles and their contents are, in effect, the branches that appear with words on them when you flip over to Mind Map View, just in case you’d forgotten.
The colours of your bubbles are transferred over to the branches in mind map view too so there’s more coherence and you can keep track of your thoughts more easily between modes.
If you’d like to share your sprain-storms with others in original bubble form, you can do so as an image, another new feature that’s just been introduced in version 10.
